A major event was held to commission 100 newly constructed housing units built for orphans and less privileged widows under the Family Homes Fund, in collaboration with Umma International Lmd Kaduna.
The commissioning ceremony took place at Rigachikun community, in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests from across the country, who all commended this remarkable initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable groups — particularly widows and orphans in need of shelter and care.
The project was executed through a partnership between the Family Homes Fund, Umma International LMD Kaduna, and the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
This collaboration reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to social justice, welfare, and inclusion for low-income citizens across Nigeria.
During the event, Hajiya Kareen Fatimah Muhammad, a close associate of Hajiya Umma, founder of Ummi International Lmd, expressed her deep appreciation and joy over Hajiya Umma’s dedication in ensuring the success of the housing project.
Hajiya Kareen said:
"This is indeed a source of pride and an example for others to emulate. Only someone with genuine compassion for their people can carry out such a humanitarian initiative. We must therefore commend Hajiya Umma and the Kaduna State Government for this noble effort.”
She further called on other wealthy and influential individuals to emulate such initiatives aimed at improving community welfare.
She also extended special praise to His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, for his compassion and continued support for the poor and vulnerable.
In conclusion, Hajiya Kareen urged the beneficiaries of the project to make good use of their new homes peacefully and responsibly, while expressing gratitude to Allah and pledging continued support for the government’s development efforts.
She also offered prayers for everyone’s safe return to their respective homes.
