Bauchi Governor Bala Muhammad Condoles Over Death of Sheikh Ɗahiru Usman Bauchi

Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Muhammad, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the prominent Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who died on Thursday, November 27.

In a condolence message issued through his spokesperson, Mukhtar Gidado, the Governor, on behalf of his family, the government, and the people of Bauchi State, expressed profound grief over this great loss and extended condolences to the scholar’s family, his students, followers, and the Muslim community across Nigeria and the world at large.

He said, “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihirraji’un. With deep sadness and grief, the Bauchi State Government announces the passing of the distinguished Islamic scholar, leader, and prominent figure in the Muslim community, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who returned to his Creator early this Thursday morning, November 27, 2025, in Bauchi, at the age of 102.”

According to Governor Bala, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi was a pillar of Islamic knowledge, a man of deep faith, humility, wisdom, modesty, and total dedication to Islam. “His life was devoted to spreading Islam, teaching the Holy Qur’an, and guiding people with good morals and upright character.”

He added that through the establishment of numerous Islamic schools and learning centers, Sheikh Dahiru Usman educated thousands of students who memorized the Qur’an and mastered various branches of Islamic knowledge across Africa.

He further stated that the scholar’s peaceful approach to teaching, his passion for national unity, and his commitment to societal progress are unmatched and will continue to be remembered for generations.

Governor Bala Mohammed said this is a great loss of a devoted scholar who dedicated his life to the service of Allah, to teaching, and to nurturing good character within society. “His legacy will live on, and future generations will continue to emulate him.”

He affirmed that the Bauchi State Government will continue to honor him and support the institutions he left behind to advance Islamic education, moral upbringing, and community development.

He prayed that Allah forgives him and grants him the highest rank in Paradise, and he extended condolences to his family, students, and the entire Muslim community.
