The Inspire Youth for the Nation Foundation, under the leadership of its President, Engr. Ridwan Mika'il Fagaci, in collaboration with Global Hub Ventures, organized a one-day capacity-building workshop aimed at empowering women and young people with knowledge of modern agricultural practices, digital entrepreneurship, and livestock farming to improve their livelihoods.
The workshop, themed "Youth Mentorship," focused primarily on youths and women from Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The event was held at the main conference hall of the National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services (NAERLS), under Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
It attracted youth leaders, student advocates from Ahmadu Bello University, and other distinguished guests from Soba Local Government Area.
During the workshop, participants received training on modern farming techniques, online business opportunities, and efficient, practical methods of livestock production.
The sessions were designed to equip attendees with skills that would promote self-reliance and improve their economic prospects.
In his address, the President of the Inspire Youth for the Nation Foundation, Engr. Ridwan Mika'il Fagaci, commended the participants for their strong turnout and eagerness to acquire knowledge.
He emphasized that access to such practical training would significantly enhance their livelihoods and create opportunities for sustainable economic growth.
He also called on political leaders and public office holders to prioritize initiatives that promote the welfare and well-being of the people they represent, particularly young people.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Soba Local Government Area, Alhaji Magaji Kado, and the party's Youth Leader noted that programmes of this nature are essential for youth empowerment and community development.
Following the workshop, participants visited the National Animal Production Research Institute (NAPRI), Shika, a research institute under Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where they gained further insights into livestock research and modern animal production practices.
The event concluded with the presentation of awards to several outstanding community leaders in recognition of their remarkable contributions to youth empowerment and the development of Soba Local Government Area.
