Amid the joyous celebrations of Sallah the Odenyni Anegbira of Zazzau, Alhaji Lawal, has lauded the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, for his steadfast commitment to peace, unity, and inclusive leadership across the Zazzau Emirate and Kaduna State.

Speaking during the colourful Hawan Bariki—a key highlight of the Sallah durbar celebrations—Alhaji Lawal praised the Emir’s role in fostering harmony among the emirate’s diverse communities. In a symbolic gesture of loyalty and respect, he dismounted from his horse to pay homage as the Emir led a grand procession of traditional rulers, title holders, and government officials.

He noted that the Zazzau Emirate Council has consistently demonstrated inclusiveness by recognising and engaging minority communities, particularly the Ebira people, thereby strengthening bonds of trust and cooperation.

“The peace we enjoy today is a product of purposeful leadership and mutual respect,” he said, urging his people to continue supporting the Emir’s vision for unity and coexistence.

Alhaji Lawal also extended Sallah greetings to key government functionaries, including the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State and the Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government, offering prayers for continued peace, stability, and prosperity.

The Hawan Bariki, traditionally held a day after Eid al-Fitr, featured the Emir’s ceremonial horseback ride from the city to the Polo Ground in GRA Sabon Gari. There, he received homage from district heads, community representatives, and dignitaries, including Hon. Abubakar Kamilu Albani Samaru.

The event concluded peacefully, underscoring the enduring legacy of cultural pride and intercommunal harmony within the Zazzau Emirate.
