6th Qur’anic Graduation Ceremony Held at Makkah/Salafiyyah Academy, Samaru

Makkah/Salafiyyah Academy, Samaru, held its 6th Qur’anic memorization graduation ceremony at the premises of L.E.A Lemu Primary School in Samaru, Zaria. The event was attended by prominent Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, government officials, parents, and other dignitaries from Sabon Gari Local Government Area and across Kaduna State.
The ceremony was led by the President of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, whose presence underscored the importance of Qur’anic education in building a morally upright society. In his speech, he commended the school, teachers, and parents for their dedication to nurturing children based on Islamic teachings. He encouraged the graduates to live by the teachings of the Qur’an and serve as ambassadors of good character.
The Emir of Zazzau, Ambasada Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, served as the Father of the Day. The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Abdulkadir Balarabe Meyere. Other dignitaries present included the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman; Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Sadiq Ango Abdullahi; former Kaduna State Governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero; APC National Vice Chairman (North-West), Hon. Garba Datti Muhammad Babawo; Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Rt. Hon. Aminu Abdullahi Shagali; state lawmakers, local government chairmen, and other key stakeholders in Kaduna State and beyond.
Renowned scholars including Sheikh Muhammad Kabir Haruna Gombe, Sheikh Sharu Danlami Muchia, and Sheikh Rabiu Abdullahi Ganganfa delivered enlightening sermons on the virtues of memorizing the Qur’an, the responsibilities of its memorizers, and the critical role parents and society play in raising righteous children. They emphasized that societal progress is rooted in knowledge, morality, and fear of Allah.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government and ALGON Chairman of Kaduna State, Hon. Sheikh Jamilu Abubakar Albani Samaru Zaria, congratulated the graduates and their families, describing the achievement as a milestone not only for the students but for the entire community. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting both Islamic and Western education, stressing that education remains the foundation for peace, unity, and sustainable development.
He also expressed gratitude to all attendees and extended special appreciation to his father for donating the land where the school initially began operations, praying that Allah rewards him with Paradise.
The event featured beautiful Qur’anic recitations by the graduating students, followed by the presentation of certificates and gifts to the Huffaz (memorizers of the Qur’an). Special prayers were offered for leaders, Kaduna State, and Nigeria as a whole.
Among the graduates, Al’husai Sani expressed gratitude to Allah, his teachers, and his parents for their support. Similarly, A’isha Muhammad shared her joy and pledged to continue seeking knowledge throughout her life.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for peace, stability, and lasting progress, as attendees departed with happiness and renewed hope for a future grounded in faith and good character.
