The Bauchi State House of Assembly has congratulated the state Governor Bala Mohammed on receiving the distinguished award for good governance and regional growth at the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS).
The award, presented by Best Strategic Media (TBS) in partnership with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), recognises exemplary leadership and impactful public service across the country.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of all members, the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman described the honour as a testament to Governor Mohammed's transformative governance and his administration's visible achievements in economic expansion, political stability, and regional development.
According to a statement by his media aide, Mukhtar Garba Kobi, the Speaker noted that the Assembly has consistently partnered with the Executive to build enduring legacies that address decades of hardship and improve the lives of citizens.
He reaffirmed the lawmakers' commitment to supporting policies and legislation that strengthen development, adding that under Governor Mohammed leadership, "Bauchi will continue to stand as a hub of innovation, peace, and opportunity."
The Speaker further praised the governor as "A leader par excellence, a unifying figure, a politician defined by impact, the voice of the oppressed, and the people’s governor."
Governor Bala Mohammed had earlier been honoured on Sunday night with the National Excellence in Public Service (NEAPS) Award by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who commended the governor's visionary governance, sweeping urban renewal projects, and dedication to citizens' welfare.
Delivering the President's remarks, the SGF, Senator George Akume, highlighted the governor's prudent management of resources and commitment to reforms, describing him as one of Nigeria's most exemplary state leaders.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Mohammed expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, calling it a motivation to intensify ongoing reforms and accelerate the modernisation of Bauchi State.
He reiterated his resolve to pursue people-centered policies that enhance economic growth, transform communities, and uplift the broader North-East region.
