Madrasatul Nuril-Huda Marks Growth and 30th Graduation in Samaru, Zaria

Madrasatul Nuril-Huda in Samaru, Zaria, was established in 1982. The school began with just one class in the garage of the late Alhaji Abdulmumin Tanko, with a single teacher, Malam Abubakar Siddeeq Musa, and only seven students.

The school was founded under the leadership of the late Chief Imam of Samaru, Sheikh Muhammadu Tela, alongside Sheikh Umar Ahmad. History will not forget the contributions of individuals such as Malam Abubakar Mai Tafseeri of Anguwan Na’ibi, Alhaji Maigoro, and Malam Isa Na’ibi, among others, who played vital roles in the establishment and development of the school. We pray that Allah grants them mercy.

Development and Infrastructure

In 1987, the late Alhaji Wada Musa provided the school with four classrooms on loan, which were later officially handed over to the school by his heirs. Some years later, he also donated a piece of land in New Extension, which was sold in 2006 to acquire another plot closer to the school.

Currently, the school has six classrooms and a two-storey building that includes additional classrooms and a library.

The school extends special appreciation to the Chairman of Sabon-Gari Local Government and Chairman of ALGON in Kaduna State, Hon. (Sheikh) Jamilu Abubakar Albani, for his support, including the donation of roofing materials. Appreciation is also extended to former Local Government Chairman Hon. Muhammad Usman, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Sadiq (Kogunan Safana), and other community members for their various contributions.

The school also acknowledges the Sabon-Gari Local Government Education Authority for allowing them to use classrooms at L.E.A Primary School, Lemu, for teaching.

However, the school still seeks additional support from the Muslim community to complete the two-storey building, which is currently at the final plastering stage.

30th Graduation Ceremony

On May 3, the school successfully held its 30th graduation ceremony. A total of 19 male and 27 female students graduated this year.

Among the distinguished guests at the event were Sheikh Professor Abdullahi Dangi (Magajin Garin Nupe) and Sheikh Nazir Dahiru Usman, Bauchi who delivered speeches emphasizing unity and peaceful coexistence among Muslims and non-Muslims.

Parents and community members expressed great joy and showed strong support for the occasion.

The head of the school, Malam Muhammad Ghali Musa, also offered condolences to the family and associates of the late Sheikh Dahiri Usman Bauchi, who was usually a special guest at such events. He prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and eternal peace for the deceased.

The event was conducted peacefully and concluded successfully.
