The Vice Chairman’s Sabon Gari football tournament ended successfully

Grand Finale of the Vice Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government Football Tournament Held, as the Local Government Chairman Presents Prizes to Youths and Reaffirms Support for Governor Uba Sani’s Youth Agenda

The Deputy Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government, Hon. Abdulkareem Kamilu, successfully organized the Grand Finale of the Deputy Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government Football Tournament (Kick-Off – 2025), a major initiative designed to promote grassroots football development, strengthen youth unity, and enhance peaceful coexistence within the community.
The much-anticipated final match between Sa’in Jama’a FC and Zamani FC ended in a draw at regulation time, after which the winner was decided through a penalty shootout. Sa’in Jama’a FC eventually emerged champions after an exciting and highly competitive encounter.
The event attracted a large turnout of football lovers, youths, community leaders, political stakeholders, and residents of Sabon Gari Local Government.
The grand finale was graced by the presence of the Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government and Chairman of ALGON, Kaduna State, Hon. Sheikh Jamilu Abubakar Albani (Samaru, Zaria), who presented the tournament trophy and medals to the winners. He also announced financial support aimed at motivating youths and promoting sports development.
Breakdown of the cash awards:
₦500,000 – Sa’in Jama’a FC (Champions)
₦250,000 – Zamani FC (Runners-up)
₦200,000 – Team that placed Third
₦150,000 – Team that placed Fourth
₦100,000 – Team that placed Fifth
₦100,000 – Emergency financial support for youths
₦300,000 – Support for the tournament organizers in recognition of the successful execution of the competition
In his remarks, Hon. Sheikh Albani commended the Deputy Chairman for initiating the tournament, describing it as an important platform for discovering youth talents, engaging young people in meaningful activities, and ensuring peace within the community. He noted that the tournament aligns with the Kaduna State Government’s youth development agenda under the leadership of Governor Dr. Uba Sani, CON, which prioritizes sports, education, skills acquisition, and youth empowerment.
The Chairman called on youths of Sabon Gari Local Government to register and update their membership with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVC) from INEC, emphasizing that active participation in politics is crucial for being part of governance and decision-making processes.
He further urged youths to continue supporting Governor Uba Sani toward a second term in office to consolidate the achievements already recorded. He also warned against drug abuse and other social vices, stressing the importance of unity, discipline, and hard work in building a better future.
The event concluded with the presentation of awards in an atmosphere of joy and celebration, reaffirming Sabon Gari Local Government’s commitment to youth empowerment, sports development, and inclusive leadership.
The game was conducted smoothly, and they left safely.
