Governor Bala Mohammed has been honoured with the National Excellence in Public Service (NEAP) Award by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, celebrating his transformative leadership, visionary governance, and pioneering urban development agenda in Bauchi State.
The award was presented on Sunday at a high-level performance assessment ceremony organised by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) in partnership with Best Strategic Media, an institution recognised for its rigorous evaluation of public service excellence across the country.
Delivering President Tinubu's remarks, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, praised Governor Mohammed for his sweeping urban renewal projects, innovative economic programmes, and unwavering commitment to improving citizens’ welfare.
President Tinubu highlighted that Governor Bala’s transparent leadership and prudent management of state resources have distinguished him as one of Nigeria’s most exemplary governors.
He added that national honours of this calibre are aimed at promoting merit-based governance and fostering models capable of catalysing nationwide development.
In his response, Governor Mohammed expressed profound appreciation for the recognition, describing it as an inspiration to intensify ongoing reforms and fast-track Bauchi State’s modernization efforts.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing people-centred policies that are transforming communities, stimulating economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life in Bauchi State and the broader North-East region.
