Drivers and Mechanics of the Islamic Movement Hold Maulid Celebration in Zaria

The Association of Drivers and Mechanics of the Islamic Movement, Zaria branch, under the leadership of Sheikh Ibrahim Yakubu Al-Zazzaky, organized a Maulid al-Nabiyy (birthday celebration of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) at the main motor park field in ‘Yan Karfi, located Kaduna Zaria Road in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Our correspondent reports that the event was conducted peacefully and witnessed the attendance of prominent personalities from various parts of Zaria and its environs. After the opening ceremony, students from Islamic Movement schools held a march-past parade, with schools such as Fudiyyah Zabi and Fudiyyah Kufaina displaying impressive performances.

During the event, the Traffic Control Unit of Zaria was given the opportunity to present an important paper on road accidents resulting from violation of traffic regulations.
Malam Suleman Dakace, who represented the unit under the leadership of Sheikh Ibrahim Yakubu Al-Zazzaky, listed some of the major causes of accidents as follows:

1. Driving under the influence of drugs

2. Using worn-out tires

3. Brake failure

4. Overspeeding or rushing due to urgency

5. Overconfidence or impatience

He emphasized that the best way to avoid such problems is by obeying traffic laws and driving calmly and patiently. Malam Suleman also urged all drivers to be law-abiding in order to protect lives and property.

In his remarks, Malam Yusuf Garba, who represented the Zaria Castelia Head (2IC), began by thanking Allah and commending the lovers of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He then recited verses from the Holy Qur’an highlighting the importance of obedience to rules and order, particularly in driving.
He praised the disciples of Sheikh Ibrahim Yakubu Al-Zazzaky for organizing meaningful gatherings like this, describing it as a model for the wider community.

Also speaking at the event, Sheikh Hardido from Ahlus-Sunnah emphasized the importance of unity among Muslims, warning against the dangers of disunity among Nigerians. He expressed his joy for being invited to the occasion.

Among the notable scholars who attended the event were Sheikh Sunusi Khalifan, Imam of Kwangila Malam Iliyasu Shehu, and Sheikh Abdul-Hameed Bello, all of whom blessed the gathering and commended the Drivers and Mechanics Association of Zaria for organizing such a grand Mawlid celebration.
