The Chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government, Sheikh Abubakar Jamilu Albani Samaru Zaria, has held an important meeting to discuss the growing security challenges affecting the area.
The meeting took place at the main hall of the local government secretariat in Dogarawa, Sabon Gari, Kaduna State.
In attendance were the Vice Chairman of the local government, Hon. Kamilu Abdulkarim; Hon Sani Basawa all councilors of the local government; scholars; security personnel; traditional rulers; and representatives of various associations. They gathered to discuss and find solutions to the security challenges faced by the people of Sabon Gari.
In his address, the chairman expressed concern over the rising cases of crimes—especially rape, phone snatching, and other criminal activities. He emphasized: “These issues greatly worry the government; therefore, I call on parents to pay close attention to the upbringing of their children, as the local government will take strict action against anyone caught.”
He added that anyone arrested by security agencies for causing unrest, stealing, robbery, or rape will face severe punishment.
The chairman also warned traditional rulers and clerics against granting bail to criminals. He further urged Jumu’ah imams and church pastors to deliver special sermons on security matters in their places of worship.
He offered prayers for continued peace in Sabon Gari Local Government, Kaduna State, and Nigeria as a whole.
Among the speakers at the meeting was Sheikh Ibrahim Sabon Gari, who commended the chairman’s foresight and commitment, pledging full support. Likewise, Barista Shanwil, the Imam of Samaru Market Central Mosque, supported the measures taken and wished the chairman well.
The Chairman of CAN in Sabon Gari Local Government also welcomed the initiative and offered special prayers for progress. Leaders of NURTW, NATO, HISBA, NACO, MUNAZATU, GIBWIS, and others were all present and supported the meeting’s resolutions.
The meeting ended in harmony and satisfaction.
