Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has sworn in a new Commissioner, five Special Advisers, and two Permanent Commissioners as part of efforts to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery in the state.
The swearing-in ceremony, held on Thursday in Bauchi, saw the Governor formally inaugurate Hon. Abdulkadir Ibrahim as Commissioner for Education, alongside two Permanent Commissioners for the State Civil Service Commission and five Special Advisers.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Mohammed emphasized the need for collective commitment and urgency in governance.
"We must be impatient collectively, not just me, because my time is limited. Many of you will return to the trenches for the next phase as interested stakeholders," he said.
The newly sworn-in Special Advisers include Halima Ibrahim Dimis, Special Adviser on the Nigeria for Women Project and Women Affairs; retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Sani Usman Mohammed, appointed as Chief Security Adviser; Hassana Arkila, Special Adviser on Empowerment; Ahmed Tijjani Baba, Special Adviser on Social Reorientation; and Sha’awanatu Yusuf, Special Adviser to the State Action Committee on Gender-Based Violence.
In addition, Yusuf Ibrahim and Nasiru Mohammed Yalwa were sworn in for a second tenure as Permanent Commissioners in the State Civil Service Commission.
Governor Mohammed described the appointments as part of his administration’s deliberate efforts to reinforce governance structures, deepen institutional efficiency, and improve effective service delivery across the state.
After administering the oath of office, the Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency, equity, justice, and fairness in the conduct of government business.
He urged the appointees to uphold the rule of law and discharge their responsibilities with integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of public duty.
He also charged them to work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders across ministries, departments, and agencies to accelerate socio-economic development and ensure citizens benefit from the dividends of democracy.
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated officials, the Commissioner for Education, Abdulkadir Ibrahim, expressed gratitude to the Governor for the trust placed in them.
He pledged their collective loyalty, dedication, and commitment to advancing the administration's vision of inclusive growth and sustainable development in Bauchi State.
